COQUITLAM - The Coquitlam Foundation has added two new members to its board of directors. Ron Grender, a retired School District 43 principal, takes the spot vacated by the retiring Gerri Wallis. Fred Soofi, operator of the Pasta Polo restaurant, fills the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce position on the board, replacing Richard Rainey.
They join board Chair Colleen Talbot, Secretary Julie Fisher, Treasurer Bob Tanaka, and directors Sam Nakai, Terry O’Neill, Ron Roberge, Diane Sowden, Mayor Richard Stewart, Janet Toddington and Wim Vander Zalm.
The Coquitlam Foundation, which began operation in 1992, encourages and supports creative, targeted philanthropy that builds a vibrant, sustainable and healthy community. It manages more than 20 donor- and foundation-directed funds, focusing on everything from the arts and athletics to literacy and gymnastics.
