
COQUITLAM – The RBC Foundation has donated $1,000 to the Coquitlam Foundation’s general fund.
Dennis Chan and Scott Ross of RBC Dominion Securities handed over the donation to Coquitlam Foundation chair Colleen Talbot at a meeting of the foundation’s board of directors on Nov. 12.
RBC is committed to making a lasting social impact through inspired, responsible giving and by building strong partnerships with the charitable sector. RBC invested more than $51.5 million with charities in hundreds of communities worldwide in 2008.
Established in 1992, the Coquitlam Foundation encourages and supports creative, targeted philanthropy that builds a vibrant, sustainable, and healthy community. This year, the foundation distributed over $50,000 in grants, bursaries and scholarships. As well, the Coquitlam Foundation offers local residents the opportunity to focus their donations in their own community and also to create a legacy for the future. The foundation currently manages funds in excess of $1.6 million.
